Algorithms can trade much faster than humans and eliminate emotional bias. Common algorithmic strategies include momentum trading, mean reversion, and arbitrage. High-frequency trading is a subset of algorithmic trading that executes thousands of trades per second, though not all algorithmic trading is high-frequency.
